Airbus, Boeing Commercial Aircraft Deals at Paris Airshow

With the MAX 10, first teased in March by Boeing Commercial Airplanes sales boss Randy Tinseth, the company has certainly closed the gap.

Boeing launched the biggest and most fuel-efficient plane yet in its 737 MAX jetliner series at the opening of the Paris Airshow on Monday, June 19. Customers will be announcing order details throughout the week. "If we put one extra tank, we have better range than they have with two".

"The Max 10 will provide customers with even more flexibility in terms of airplane range and higher seat count", chief executive Dennis Muilenburg told the BBC.

The Irish low-priced carrier now has 110 unfilled orders with 100 options for the higher capacity 737 MAX 8, as well as 65 Next-Generation 737-800s.

Boeing has shifted its focus to big twin-engine planes that can seat more than 400 passengers. Other alterations to earlier versions include a variable exit limit rating mid-exit door, a lighter, flat aft pressure bulkhead and a modified wing for low-speed drag reduction.

The Boeing 737 Max 10 is about 5.5ft longer than its current 737 Max 9 and can seat 180-230 passengers, as against the Max 9's 178 seats.

Norwegian added an order for two 737 MAX 8s, worth $225 million, to its existing order for the MAX.

China's Okay Airways placed a firm order for 15 737 Boeing MAX aircraft, including eight MAX 10s, as Boeing continued to rack up commitments for the MAX at the Paris Air Show.

United Airlines (UAL) announced an order for 100 737 Max 10s.

MOU for 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft valued at US$8.4 billion at current list prices with an option for a further 50 aircraft.

The 787-10 is the third version of Boeing 787 Dreamliner family.

The Max 10 is the fifth member of Boeing's family of single-aisle aircraft and the third model launched in as many years.

Norwegian is the European launch customer for the 737 MAX and now operates a fleet of more than 100 Next-Generation 737-800s across its short and medium-haul network. The MAX 10 will be introduced in the 2020 time frame. "The market is especially hungry for single-aisle airplanes as more people start travelling by air".
