Cristiano Ronaldo keen on Man Utd return

Ronaldo's agents could not immediately be reached for comment.

It looks like four time Ballon d'Or victor, and arguably the best player in world football, will leave Los Blancos after it was suggested that the 32-year-old was unhappy after he "defrauded the authorities of €14.7 million" in a three-year period between 2011 and 2014.

But Ronaldo has also publicly expressed his discontentment about being jeered at times by some Madrid fans at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, saying that it's unfair considering all that he has done for the club since arriving in 2009.

Spanish newspaper Marca reported last night that the club are trying to calm Ronaldo down and get him to reconsider his position.

The Telegraph report that Ronaldo could be available for around £131m as he looks to leave Spain after being accused of tax fraud.

The Argentina forward was found guilty and subsequently lost an appeal against a 21-month prison sentence (under Spanish law sentences under two years are usually suspended) and a fine of 2.1 million euros ($A3.1 million).

Ronaldo is now on national team duty with Portugal at the FIFA Confederations Cup in Russian Federation, and it's unlikely that we'll hear anything from the Portuguese captain until after the tournament's completion.

While Ronaldo generates a staggering amount of income for his club off the pitch, the 32-year-old outlined his importance on it with 42 goals in all competitions this season, including vital strikes to secure Real's 33rd La Liga title and 12th Champions League crown.

CRISTIANO RONALDO wants a sensational return to Manchester United.

But club director Fergie would be on hand to smooth the path for Ronaldo to end his career at Old Trafford.

"I don't think he would go and play in China or the Middle East". Last November, he agreed to extend his contract until 2021.
