Facebook Messenger Adds More Features To Video Chat Service

If you get easily bored during video chats with friends and family, then there's good news, as Facebook Messenger has introduced a range of new features to keep you entertained.

The reactions take the five reaction emoji from Messenger - a heart, a smiling face, a surprised face, a crying face, and an angry face - and animate them as an overlay on your face. Facebook notes that while reactions are fleeting, masks and effects remain on screen for the whole duration of the group video chat or until you remove them.

Along with these, the update also makes it easier for users to take screenshots of their video chats by adding a dedicated button, saving users from pressing a combination of physical buttons for this objective.

With the update rolling out via the Play Store soon keep an eye out for it to obtain these new features as soon as possible. The new animated reactions, on the other hand, apply to both individual and group video chats.

You can preview a filter yourself before setting it so everyone sees it. Check out the new things you can do with Messenger's video chat feature by clicking on the video at the top of the story. In addition to animated effects, some masks have hidden features, so that's something to look out for.

Finally, Messenger is also making it easier to share screenshots of video chat. Just tap the camera icon to capture a screen of your conversation, which will then be saved to the camera roll of your phone.

Users can add songs from Spotify playlists by tapping "Add a Song" on the post's thumbnail.
