Sue Hodgkinson, who works at a tax firm, said she and James didn't see much of each other from January to March because of her job. She told reporters she feels "horrible".

That's exactly what law enforcement is investigating now.

Federal Bureau of Investigation officials also tell News 3 they are now processing a cellphone, computer and camera recovered from Hodgkinson's van that was parked across the street from the Alexandria, Virginia baseball field where they say he opened fire.

The 66-year-old IL man who opened fire early Wednesday on members of Congress practicing for a charity baseball game, raged against President Trump and once singled out House Majority Whip Steve Scalise, who was wounded in the attack. Most recently, Hodgkinson worked as a home inspector; a sign on the edge of his property advertised his business.

After the horrifying event, Hodgkinson's Facebook page was discovered by the press and it's cover photo featured a large photo of Sanders. "I can not believe it", she said. "So we got to speak up for the whole country", said Hodgkinson in 2011.

The charges against Belleville, Illinois, resident ranged from battery and causing bodily harm, to fleeing from police, to numerous traffic offenses, including driving under the influence of alcohol.

Senator Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) condemned the shooting of a Republican representative and several others by a man who volunteered for his presidential campaign. "I think he just wanted a break", she said. "I can't wrap my head around it", Hodgkinson said.

Hodgkinson, who was shot by police and later died of his wounds, bought the 7.62 caliber rifle and the 9 mm handgun that were recovered at the scene of the shooting from federally licensed gun dealers.

A gunman injured at least five people during a congressional baseball practice in Alexandria, Virginia Wednesday, June 14th.

James Hodgkinson was expected home soon because he had run out of money. On social media Hodgkinson made a series of anti-Trump and anti-Republican comments, but so far investigators have not determined whether the man's politics was the motive for the attack.

His wife said she learned about the shootings Wednesday from a television reporter. "I don't deserve this, my daughters don't deserve this".
