ATVs recalled for fire hazards

No word yet of similar action in Australia, however thousands of Polaris all-terrain vehicles (ATVs) sold in the US are being recalled to fix a possible fuel leak.

The first recall is for 2014 Polaris Sportsman 570 ATVs.

No injuries were reported. The ATVs were sold in several colors.

The affected Sportsman vehicles were sold from April 2014 through May 2017 for $6,500 and $7,700. "Polaris" is printed on the front grill, and "Sportsman 570" is printed on the side panel.

To schedule a recall fix, call Polaris at 800-765-2747 from 8 a.m.to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, or contact the company online.

On Tuesday, Polaris recalled 1,160 of its 2017 off-road "RZR 570" models (including the "RZR S 570" and RZR EPS 570 units). Polaris' recall announcement said the Minnesota-based company's received 30 fuel leak reports and four fire reports about the ATVs, which were made in the United States.
