Brown signs Blues contract and joins Brighton on loan

After spending last season on loan at Huddersfield, Chelsea midfielder Izzy Brown will be playing Premier League football in 2017-18, but not for the Terriers.

The news will come as joy to Brighton fans who are desperate to see their side strengthen in their debut season in the Premier League.

However, he will spent the first of those years at the AMEX Stadium having joined Premier League newcomers Brighton on loan.

Quick, athletic and possessing vast potential, Brown could prove a valuable weapon to Brighton as they aim to stay afloat in their debut Premier League campaign.

Hughton takes his team to Southend for a pre-season friendly and the new addition is expected to be involved.

Chelsea winger Izzy Brown has signed a new contract with the club and joined Brighton & Hove Albion on a season-long loan.

He went on to net five times in 21 games, where he started in the play-off final victory over Reading.

Although Brown will want to forget his nightmare miss, where he miscued an Elias Kachunga cross wide with the goal gaping.

The 20-year-old, who spend the second half of last term on loan at Brighton's fellow promoted side Huddersfield Town, is on the verge of completing a temporary switch to the Gulls, according to the Sun.

Brown is Brighton's sixth new signing of the summer following the arrivals of Pascal Gross, Josh Kerr, Mathew Ryan, Markus Suttner and Mathias Normann.
