Pentaerythritol tetranitrate (PETN), also known as PENT, PENTA, TEN, corpent, penthrite, is one of the most powerful explosive materials known, with a relative effectiveness (RE) factor of 1.66 (RE is a measurement of an explosive's power).

It is a "dangerous tendency that the security of the Assembly has been breached when the House is in session", CM Yogi said.

After the meeting, Chief Minister ordered a Police verification of all the workers in the assembly complex.

Adityanath said that this incident could also be an act of terror, planned with terrorist or militant groups and that the security of the state and the country cannot be compromised. Meanwhile, a probe has been launched in the matter by the security officials and more details on the same are awaited. We have made a decision to pass a resolution to condemn such an act.

He told all MLAs present that everyone needs to be cautious and make sure to follow security guidelines. A joint effort is needed for this. He later held a Press Conference and raised concerns on the security arrangements of the assembly.

He also called for Quick Reaction Teams at every gate and a complete ban on entry into the assembly building without passes.

Parliamentary Affairs minister Suresh Kumar Khanna said all measures, as directed by the Speaker, will be taken to ensure Vidhan Bhawan's security. "Our government is serious on the issue and will ensure that the affected get necessary relief", Adityanath said while replying to a question of Leader of Opposition Ram Govind Chowdhury (SP).

MLAs will be not permitted to enter the assembly with mobile phones or bags.
