Aaron Jones makes preseason debut for Green Bay Packers

It will be the 26th time that Green Bay has played Washington during the preseason, the second most in team history behind only the Packers' 30 games against the N.Y. Giants.

The NFL handed Guion his suspension for violating its performance-enhancing drug policy in March.

While Guion had his share of off-field issues, he was a steady performer for the Packers on the field, playing in 44 of 48 games with the team and earning praise from Aaron Rodgers as a "great teammate".

It's no secret that the Green Bay Packers Achilles heel has been the defense for years.

Dean Lowry is going to be starting at defensive end, Kenny Clark will start at nose tackle, Jake Ryan and Blake Martinez will play inside linebacker and either Quinten Rollins or Damarious Randall will likely get a starting corner spot, if Kevin King doesn't outshine them.

The Packers will continue preseason play on the road against the Washington Redskins on August 19.

That allowed them to add Auburn defensive lineman Montravius Adams in the third round to provide depth along with Christian Ringo on the inside.

Already over a week into training camp and it's already apparent the safeties will play an expanded role in the Packers defense. Packersnews.com's Tom Silverstein speculates that perhaps the team learned that Guion would face an additional suspension as a result of his DUI arrest in Hawaii back in June.
