Barca 'admit defeat' for Coutinho

The Catalans are reportedly preparing to make a fourth bid for the Brazil global in the region of €140million, having seen all other advances rejected by the Premier League side.

So far, Liverpool have steadfastly refused any offer for the Brazilian, and reports this morning indicated that they wouldn't even countenance the latest, fourth bid from the Blaugrana.

Liverpool have already rejected two formal bids from Barcelona and have preempted an impending third offer, likely to be in the region of £130million, by briefing that it will also be flatly rejected.

But Goal.com understand that Liverpool are unfazed by the prospect of another offer from Barcelona, despite the fee in question.

The Catalan club are set to make a bid of £138m, with an up front payment of £101m and a further £37m of add-ons with the hope of finally prying the Brazilian away from Liverpool.

The extras involve £9m each time Barca qualify for the Champions League over the next four seasons - which is virtually guaranteed.

Coutinho is yet to feature this term due to a back injury picked up in pre-season and will once again be unavailable when the Reds face Hoffenheim in the second leg of their Champions League qualifier at Anfield.

Messi was said to be reluctant to see any more first team regulars leave the Camp Nou, especially after Neymar's world record move to Paris Saint-Germain. You ask if everything is OK between me and him. If [Coutinho] would start [training] tomorrow it would take time because he has no training for a long time. Yes, 100 per cent, ' said Klopp.

"[I have] no idea in this moment [when he's back]".
