Barcelona Prepared To Offer Player In Deal For Liverpool's Coutinho

Things started with Liverpool posted an official update on the club's website confirming that FSG will refuse to sell the Brazilian this summer.

Barcelona is looking for a replacement for Neymar, who was sold to Paris Saint-Germain for a world-record fee of 222 million euros ($262 million) last week.

The Reds were without wantaway playmaker Philippe Coutinho, who remains injured, and they went behind after just eight minutes, via a headed effort from Stefano Okaka after some dismal Liverpool defending.

"Then I came back again and the team did very well so it was hard to go into the team, but now is, I think, different".

'I am responsible for all of players, not just one, two or three.

"I have to accept decisions from the owners, that's how it is, and sometimes from the players".

"We should have defended better in this kind of game, it's always complicated with long balls".

You've got a £50m budget to pick 11 players, with all the biggest new signings ready and raring to go ahead of a mouthwatering new Premier League campaign.

"We knew that before, of course, but after this game, we have a lot of things to do". So how does it change something for me?

"You have to ask them. I was not happy in the first half with the situation; it was very physical and Watford were too often the winners in these situations", he said. "That's how life is", Klopp said at a news conference on Friday, a day before Liverpool begins the Premier League season with a game at Watford.

The hosts were good value for their lead in Marco Silva's first match in charge but the erratic Heurelho Gomes brought down Salah early in the second half to allow Roberto Firmino to equalise from the penalty spot.

Liverpool conceded 27 goals from set pieces last season, and two of Watford's goals came from corners. Although the frustrated visitors wanted the freaky goal chalked off for offside.

Liverpool are disappointed with the way Coutinho has handled things, especially as the club had previously made it clear to him in face-to-face meetings that a move to Barcelona would not be entertained at the moment.
