Washington has always been a O'Neill fan. By starring in the first Broadway revival of "Fences", which picked up about every major prize on offer in 1987, when it arrived on Broadway, Mr. Washington is stepping into the outsize shadow of James Earl Jones. He directed several Broadway productions including "The Normal Heart", "All That Followed", "Angels in America" and much more.

Fearing audiences would reject the play, which runs almost five hours, O'Neill delayed its Broadway premiere until 1946.

Performances are set to begin March 22, 2018 ahead of an April 26 opening.

Hopefully, more details about the drama revival will come out soon.
