Fatal Bullet officially announced for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Steam

The game is actually an action RPG shooter set in the Gun Gale Online virtual MMORPG featured in the second Sword Art Online anime season. For the first time in series history, Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet introduces third-person shooter action along with the RPG gameplay that fans know and love.

And today in Japan, Bandai Namco has just officially announced through Dengeki that the game is being revealed as Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet. From the trailer and information, it looks like players control either Kirito or one of the other cast members and there will not be the options to create a unique character. The video was swifly pulled but not long after, however, Bandai Namco formally revealed Sword Art Online: Fatal Bullet trailer - and it turns out the rumours were true.

So far, the information released for Sword Art Online Fatal Bullet suggests the game will not be coming to PS Vita and will instead be only available on PS4, Xbox One and PC. Watching the trailer (placed below), you'll see dodge rolls, grappling hooks and dashes all being used to avoid attacks and close the gap between enemies.

In the game, players will become the hero of Gun Gale Online, and will find themselves among various landscapes and environments of a digital world. Play as the protagonist, fighting against opponents using new weapons whilst further customising gameplay, creating skills and abilities. The game's Xbox One and PC support will also be a first for the series which has previously limited itself strictly to Sony systems. Players will be interacting with characters from the novels, previous games, and of course, the anime.

Bandai describes the new SAO action game as a "unique hybrid shooter/RPG action dynamic [game] balancing gun and sword play with skill and gadget combat". Other than Japanese and English, Chinese and Korean announcements for the game have also been made.
