Hearthstone: Knights of the Frozen Throne Now Available

Hearthstone: Knights of the Frozen Throne Now Available

Only the bravest heroes dare venture to the freezing reaches of the evil Lich King's forbidding fortress, Icecrown Citadel. For the Lich King! Earlier this week, Blizzard announced that Knights of the Frozen Throne, the next expansion for its popular digital card game, would go live at 12:00 PM PT on Thursday.

Maybe that Lich King isn't such a bad fellow after all.

"The Frozen Throne" was released as an expansion pack for "Warcraft III" in 2003. That quest ended with a big confrontation with The Lich King.

Meanwhile, players who purchased "Knights of the Frozen Throne" before August 10 are entitled to get 50 card packs and an exclusive Frostmourne card.

There's not much time left to do so, but you can still head over to the Blizzard Store and pre-purchase 50 card packs for Knight of the Frozen Throne at the discounted price of £44.99. Once you complete the prologue mission, you'll receive a free random Legendary Death Knight Hero card, and if you can defeat the expansion's final mission with all nine classes, you'll unlock a new Paladin Hero: Prince Arthas.

The expansion is free to play, but access to the new cards comes in the form of booster packs which you can either try to earn by playing games, or spending real-life money to purchase them directly. These enable players to transform their mediocre characters into more powerful death knights.
