Hizbul Mujahideen Operational Commander Killed During Encounter In Kashmir's Shopian

Officials said that J&K Police's counterinsurgency Special Operations Group (SOG) with Army's 3 Rashtriya Rifles and the 177 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) launched a cordon-and-search operation in Awneera village of Zainapora area of Shopian on Saturday night, following "specific information" about the presence of militants.

The two other Hizb militants killed in the clash have been identified as Irfan-ul-Haq and Umar Majeed Mir.

The Indian armed forces registered yet another success in their fight against terrorism when a top Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed in encounter.

In an earlier post he said: "Today morning three terrorists eliminated at Zainpora Shopian".

Itoo was for long associated with separatist movement and later joined the militancy.
