Mother of slain protester Heather Heyer says she won't talk to Trump

Susan Bro, the mother of Charlottesville victim Heather Heyer, says she will not speak to President Trump because of his comments that suggested white supremacists and people protesting against them were both to blame for last weekend's violence in Virginia.

"I disagree with the president and others who believe that there is a moral equivalence between white supremacists and Nazis, and those who oppose them by standing up for human rights". You can't change history, but you can learn from it. Robert E. Lee, Stonewall Jackson - who's next, Washington, Jefferson?

This past weekend in Charlottesville, Virginia, the white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and the KKK held a rally where things turned violent for both sides. What made what transpired in Charlottesville uniquely frightful was the act of a man with apparent neo-Nazi beliefs who rammed his vehicle into a crowd of counter-protesters, killing one person and injuring 19 others.

President Trump took time Thursday morning to rail against the movement to remove what he calls "beautiful" Confederate statues and monuments.

How classy is the candidate that Trump is promoting in this tweet? "There can be no moral ambiguity", House Speaker Paul Ryan said.

Publicly criticizing the president and resigning from his councils is a significant step for big-name corporate leaders.

Just over two-thirds of Republicans said they approve of Trump's response to the attack, where a vehicle rammed into a crowd of counter protesters, killing 32-year-old Heather Heyer. California Rep. Brad Sherman and Texas Rep. Al Green filed their own in May, citing Trump's decision to fire former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey and charging Trump with obstruction of justice.

Graham denounced the president in a statement on Wednesday, according to CNN. Who will stop them, when our own president could care less?

"I can absolutely and unambiguously tell you that there's no place for racism and bigotry in the U.S. military or in the United States as a whole", General Joe Dunford, the chairman of the USA joint chiefs of staff, said. Outrage swelled following a news conference on Tuesday in which he reiterated his belief that "there's blame on both sides".

He also added that the damage caused by Trump's response to the attack would not be limited to African Americans and Hispanics only, describing the situation as "terribly frustrating".

Trump said in a news conference on Tuesday at Trump Tower.

"The public is learning (even more so) how dishonest the Fake News is".

"Publicity seeking Lindsey Graham falsely stated that I said there is moral equivalency between the KKK, neo-Nazis & white supremacists and people like Ms. Heyer", Trump wrote.

After his initial statement failed to offer a full-throated condemnation of white nationalist and other hate groups, Trump was pressured by his aides to follow up with a more forceful statement.

German Justice Minister Heiko Maas said "it was intolerable how Trump is now glossing over the violence of the right-wing hordes from Charlottesville".

Of Democrats, he said, "I want them to talk about racism every day".
