No Man's Sky Atlas Rises update released today

No Man's Sky Atlas Rises update released today

Over a year ago came the highly-anticipated No Man's Sky from Hello Games and Sony, a title that was quickly abandoned by players for not living up to the promises made by the developer and expectations from fans. Just over 12 months since launch, the game awaits its imminent Atlas Rises update-and Hello Games has now announced what we can expect.

Entitled Atlas Rises, the update introduces monumental changes and improvements to numerous game's systems, including 30 hours of entirely new story content, new missions, and a barebones form of online multiplayer.

Earlier this week, we heard that No Man's Sky would be getting a big free expansion this week called "Atlas Rises".

Considering its wealth of new features, now could be the best time to jump into No Man's Sky, or even revisit it like we're planning to.

Regarding the multiplayer, Hello Games state, "While interaction with others is now very limited, this is an important first step into the world of synchronous co-op in No Man's Sky". Plus improved graphics for the entire game with more variety and visual quality of planetary biomes and the addition of the terrain manipulator to excavate buried resources in the region.

We're also seeing the beginning stages of a multiplayer system being put into place with Atlas Rising. This left players to create their own stories and make a lot of effort into their exploration of other planets as well as mapping out parts of the galaxy that they were going to explore.

Hello Games wrote, "While interaction with others is now very limited, this is an important first step into the world of synchronous co-op in No Man's Sky". "Glitches in the simulation have begun to appear" say Hello Games, these glitches will allow players to see each other as glowing orbs, and will be able to communicate via VoIP when they're in close proximity.

For the full extensive patch notes, check out the long, long list on the No Man's Sky website. The update has already gone live on both PlayStation 4 and PC, so if you're a lapsed No Man's Sky veteran, be sure to give it a look.
