Personal Terms & £35m Deal Agreed As Tottenham Close-In On First Summer Signing

The lack of new signings has concerned Spurs fans (and Danny Rose), with Mauricio Pochettino not building on last season's second-placed finish and adding that extra piece of the jigsaw as of yet.

Davinson Sanchez is not part of Ajax's match squad for their league match against Heracles tonight.

Tottenham Hotspur will consider not going ahead with a bid for Everton attacking midfielder Ross Barkley if they are able to sign Pape Cheikh Diop and Davinson Sanchez in the summer transfer window, according to The Daily Mail.

The 21-year-old Colombian was an outstanding performer for the Dutch club last season and has attracted interest across Europe with Inter Milan and Barcelona both monitoring the player. His performances for Ajax also got him into the Colombia setup, and he made his debut for their senior national team in 2016.

Ajax will be making a massive profit on the player given that they only paid around €5 million (£4.5 million) for his services a year ago.

Sanchez is also at the age and experience level that makes sense for Spurs - he has enough of a track record for Spurs to believe that he could be a reliable backup, but he's young enough that he won't expect to be first choice right away.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino believes Sanchez is the flawless fit for his back three, and the youngster could end up playing alongside two other former Ajax players in Jan Vertonghen and Toby Alderweireld. But here, have a YouTube video that gets you excited about this potential signing.
