Roberto Aguayo waived by Buccaneers after bad preseason game

It's an unfortunate end for Aguayo but there is one thing at the very top of his job description he didn't do and that was make kicks.

Roberto Aguayo will now be packing up his bags and beginning his search for a new team after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers parted ways with him Saturday morning. Aguayo's one shining moment came in Week 11 against Kansas City Chiefs (ironically the team the Bucs traded with to draft Aguayo), where he hit all four of his field goal attempts in 19-17 victory.

Aguayo missed an extra point in the second quarter of a 23-12 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Friday night. The Bucs brought the 32-year-old veteran in on a deal during free agency to add some competition to the mix. The former second-round pick is going to have to turn it around quickly if he wants to secure the job. He struggled as a rookie, connecting on only 71 percent of his field goals. Not what I wanted.

Unfortunately for Aguayo, there won't be a next day, at least not in Tampa. Obviously, not up to the standards that I want.

First, a point-after attempt from the right hash went wayward - actually, it was perfectly straight, but the problem was it needed to not be straight - and DOINK!

FSU coach Jimbo Fisher suggested past year changes to Aguayo's kicking routine may have contributed to his inconsistency. He connected on 23 of 24 field goals during the Seminoles' national title run in 2013 and was a Groza award finalist in 2014 after converting 27 of 30 field goals. "You're a kicker. You've gotta make your kicks", Koetter said, via ESPN.com. I hit it good.

"When you get bored doing something, 'well there's more I can do".
