Sega teases Sonic Mania with animated opening cinematic

With less than a week to go before it was set to launch, the PC version of Sonic Mania has been delayed.

Sonic Mania will finally release next week for console owners. Sonic and his two original super friends run, jump and fly through a colorful fantasy world, having themselves a hell of a time. The great news is that the game is due out next week on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch.

During a livestream, Sega revealed the PC port of Sonic Mania will now launch on August 29.

Those who pre-ordered the collector's edition of Sonic Mania will still get their big lovely box on August 15.

So if you want to see early footage of the game we're sure it's floating around the Internet somewhere. However, people who have pre-ordered the game will receive another Sonic the Hedgehog game to make up for the game's unexpected tardiness.

Sega has released the opening animation video featured in Sonic Mania. Players will be able to choose between playing Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles to defeat bosses and enemies.

Not only do we get a look at a few badnik designs and the wireframe model used for Sonic, but we also learn that Amy Rose was planned to be playable. Let us know in the comments.
