Single-engine plane crashes near Adrian, two seriously injured

The two passengers who freed themselves suffered minor injuries only.

Two people have been trapped inside a light plane after it flipped upon landing at an airport on Queensland's Sunshine Coast.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman has confirmed the men, aged about 45 and 24, are trapped by their lower bodies.

After the woman flagged down a passing motorist, authorities were notified around 2:30 Friday afternoon, but the crash actually happened in the morning.

Bevier says the single-engine plane broke apart in the crash, with part of it caught in a tree.

A Sunshine Coast Daily team is at the scene but is being kept well back from the crash.

Emergency services were called about 11.45am (local time) on Saturday after the plane was believed to have stalled, flipped and ended up in bushes upside down beyond the runway.
