Some think Warriors may land George

Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant opened up about numerous happenings of his offseason Thursday to The Athletic, while also giving his thoughts on the pairing of Russell Westbrook and Paul George with his former squad, the Oklahoma City Thunder. He even went as far as to say the team has a "Big 3" in George, Westbrook, and talented big man Steven Adams.

DURANT: They only (criticized) it because it's the Warriors and it's me and they love to hate anything we do right now. So I can see if something is going to work or not and I think that's going to be a really, really great pairing. I'm a fan of the game. "That s- was really, really dope to me", he said.

Which means that if the Warriors find a way to land George, the rest of the league will essentially be toast.

George was traded to OKC in late June, but there's no telling if he wants to play for the Thunder long-term.

Here's what Tim Kawakami of The Athletic said about a potential Warriors pursuit of George in a recent podcast discussion with The Washington Post's Tim Bontemps. And with Klay Thompson seeing his role diminish with the arrival of Kevin Durant, Golden State could find a way to make room for George.

Durant addressed his pay cut in an interview with Anthony Slater for The Athletic Bay Area (which has put together a heck of a staff and is worth subscribing to). "He told me, 'They can offer what other teams can't in terms of the people and the preparation and the facility, down to the chefs and the meals.' He was pretty high on them". I went with no expectation, no view on what it's supposed to be like. "I don't know how that would happen, but I didn't know how it was going to happen when they were-three years ago, when they said they were go after Durant", said Kawakami. So I just took a step back and let the chips fall where they may.
