Apple looking into iPhone 8 and 8 Plus swelling batteries reports

There have been around five separate reports of iPhone 8 Plus screens becoming detached due to battery swelling according to The Guardian. Apple is now investigating several reports of problems surrounding the charging of the iPhone 8 Plus.

The iphone 8 has been in the market just for a week and the users have already reported the phone to be bursting open. A photo from China shows the phone split along the side with the sim tray, with internal parts visible.

Normally, customers are advised to use the same accessories that come with the phone or use a certified 3rd-party charger and cable to provide juice to the iPhone, but in this case, the phone was split open as soon as the owner removed it from the packaging.

There was no sign of scorching or an explosion, meaning that the phone was like this before the device was plugged into the wall outlet.

While reports of swelling batteries is a serious concern, there have been no reports of any of them catching fire.

The issue shouldn't be directly compared to what transpired with the Galaxy Note7 previous year as the iPhone 8's don't appear to be exploding, just cracking open due to a swollen battery.

Apple has a short statement on the matter: "We are aware and looking into it". Similar incidents have also been reported in Hong Kong, Japan, Canada and Greece. More details emerging on the Taiwanese issue claimed that the battery of the iPhone 8 had swollen to an unusal amount.

The first of these issues was recorded in Taiwan by a woman who purchased a 64GB iPhone 8 Plus in rose gold shortly after the phone was released just one week ago. Let's also determine that you routinely look at potential potential security issues with Apple's devices.

Apple Inc. shares fell $0.33 (-0.21%) in premarket trading Friday. Pre-orders for iPhone X begin October 27, and the phone will be available in stores on November 3.
