Arsenal preparing January move for Everton outcast Ademola Lookman

Everton pushed hard to recruit Giroud and fill the space up front vacated by Romelu Lukaku following his switch to Manchester United.

Despite this, The Sun say Arsenal are keen to sign Lookman during the January transfer window and have been given hope that the youngster would be willing to return to London.

Giroud's situation was made all the more precarious following the arrival of record signing Alexandre Lacazette, with his global team-mate arriving to take his place in the squad.

He told Canal Football Club: "I had the opportunity to leave".

Arsenal have won their last four games in all competitions and as far as the Premier League is concerned, they are now 6 points behind the league leaders.

Everton are not looking to sell Ademola Lookman during the January transfer window, despite interest from other Premier League clubs.

"But I made the best choice I think".

Despite only starting three games all season, in the Europa League and the Carabao Cup, the French global has ruled out further possibility of making the switch to Goodison Park in January if Everton were to register their interest in the player again.

While he has featured in all seven of Arsenal's Premier League games so far, each time has been from the bench.

"I have a lot of respect for Marseille, I was a fan for years", he added.

Lookman was part of the successful England side which won the Under-20 World Cup in the summer, scoring three goals on the team's run to the final which he played from the start.

"I'm happy in England, it's nothing against those clubs but a return to France is possible one day".
