Barcelona - The Coutinho Saga Rumbles On

LIVERPOOL look set for another transfer window of speculation surrounding Philippe Coutinho after Barcelona publicly confirmed they are ready to revive their interest in the player in January.

Now, a claim appears reported by Mundo Deportivo that says Coutinho has actually won a secret deal with manager Juergen Klopp and Liverpool management.

Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu recently suggested that the club would not make a new attempt to sign him in January due to the Reds' high demands.

According to The Mirror, Barcelona are now ready to return for Coutinho in January after missing out on him in the summer.

Former Spurs forward Crooks urged Klopp to finally improve Liverpool's defence if the Reds want to keep Coutinho in their squad in the long-term. Liverpool's position has not changed and they are furious about Grau's comments.

In terms of Liverpool's perspective, it will not be ideal for them to lose their best player during the middle of the season as they tend to struggle on the pitch without Coutinho.

Liverpool fended off Barcelona's pursuit of Coutinho in the summer, rejecting a transfer request from the 25-year-old and bids of £72 million, £90.3 million and £118 million.

"We must forget about the price paid for Neymar last summer", he added.

It would be a big move, swapping his homeland for Brazil, but if Coutinho does move on he may find it hard to replace a man he is likely to idolise given the latter's own journey.

At this stage of the season, the hope will be that Coutinho ignores Barcelona's advances and continues to focus on his form at Anfield.
