Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie suspended after leaving Giants facility

Rodgers-Cromartie said that he and the coach had an argument on the sideline during last Sunday's loss to the Chargers and things didn't cool down over the last few days.

On Wednesday, coach Ben McAdoo announced that cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has been suspended after he walked out of the team's practice facility earlier in the day. "He came in today, made a decision to leave. we will suspend him". What those conversations were McAdoo did not expand upon. He said he had a meeting with the 31-year-old veteran on Tuesday night and Rodgers-Cromartie left the team Wednesday. "We will suspend him".

The Giants starting 0-5 is hard enough but it now seems that they could be dealing with some internal problems in the locker room.

The Giants suffered an ugly loss on Sunday to the Chargers, falling to 0-5 and losing three receivers for the season in one game, including superstar wideout Odell Beckham.

According to the team on Twitter, Rodgers-Cromartie showed up to work on Wednesday and then chose to tell the team he was leaving (!?!). Rodgers-Cromartie said he handled it the wrong way, "but to sit me a game had me hot, so I left". If the Giants cut him, he would carry $2 million in dead cap space for 2018, a savings of $6.5 million.

Most teammates did not hear about the Rodgers-Cromartie's situation until after practice. After the Giants demoted Eli Apple for Rodgers-Cromartie last Sunday, Apple wasn't happy and said he was a scapegoat.
