Forza Motorsport 5 Delisted from Xbox Games Store

Forza Motorsport 7 didn't receive the same feature as last year's Forza Horizon 3 which supported streaming music files via Microsoft OneDrive.

VIP membership in Forza games costs $19.99 and has traditionally provided players with a permanent credits boost for completing events and a collection of exclusive cars, among other bonuses. Do you think this is enough to correct the VIP Pass Saga?

Forza Motorsport 7 is available on Xbox One anc PC starting October 3, 2017 as Standard Edition ($59.99, £49.99, €69.99), Deluxe Edition ($79.99, £69.99, €89.99, digital only), or start three days early when you get the Ultimate Edition ($99.99, £89.99, €109.99). Yesterday, Turn 10 Studios took to the Forza blog to address the situation. Don't despair at the thought though, after a little over 10 hours I had already reached auto tier five, at which point I had access to every vehicle in the game.

Alan Hartman, Studio Head of Turn 10 - the developer behind the Forza Motorsport series - has responded to fan outcry around controversial changes to its VIP Member system, penning an open letter to the community and apologising for the upset, assuring fans that a feature is being worked on that will provide double credits for all VIP members, as well as providing an immediate 1 million credit apology. There are some changes that may alienate legacy Forza Motorsport players, but prize crates aside they've all been made with good intentions and mostly pay off. We immediately updated the VIP description in the Windows Store to alleviate any future confusion. Per Hartman, the team heard "loud and clear" from Ultimate Edition owners who expressed frustration over the VIP membership offer in Forza Motorsport 7. As head of the studio, I apologize for any confusion or frustration our players may have experienced ...

Now, Turn 10 says it will return to a system that will work just as it did in Forza Motorsport 6, "offering a 2X base credit bonus after every race".

Forza Motorsport 7 is by most accounts a great racing game, but it messed up with the VIP upgrade. Work on this change has already begun, with a release planned to arrive soon. "The team is working around the clock to report, investigate, and resolve these issues as quickly as possible", he wrote.
