Janet Jackson NOT Banned from Super Bowl Halftime ... NFL Says

Janet Jackson NOT Banned from Super Bowl Halftime ... NFL Says

After months of speculation surrounding the "Can't Stop the Feeling!" hitmaker's return to the Super Bowl halftime stage, he officially confirmed that he will headline the Super Bowl LII at Minnesota's U.S. Bank Stadium on February 4, 2018. That appearance, however, was quickly eclipsed by the notorious episode three years later, in which he tore off co-star Janet Jackson's top, briefly revealing a bejeweled nipple.

On Sunday, the performer tweeted a video of himself with pal Jimmy Fallon, where Fallon asks Timberlake, "Do you have the time?" and Timberlake replies, "I do have the time", gradually speeding up until they're practically saying "half time".

It's unclear whether anyone will be joining him on stage this time around.

It would be entirely fitting if Jackson returned alongside Timberlake for Super Bowl LII. "But...no...that's not going to happen".

Jackson's career took a hit from the incident, while Timberlake's continued to flourish.

Lady Gaga performed at last year's game, with the year before featuring a performance by Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars to commemorate Super Bowl 50. Jackson and Timberlake both apologized; in his statement, issued shortly after the show ended, Timberlake blamed the incident, which also has been referred to as Nipplegate, on a "wardrobe malfunction" - introducing that phrase into the popular lexicon. That would be the "ultimate accomplishment", he told Tirico, before joking that he also wanted veteran SNF announcer Al Michaels to join everyone else in "shaking their booty".

Jackson probably won't make an appearance alongside JT, but, I've got hope since the National Football League isn't saying it's not allowed.
