Las Vegas Shooter Previously Booked Rooms Overlooking 2 Other Large Music Festivals

The gunman who carried out the worst mass shooting in recent USA history had booked a Chicago hotel overlooking the Lollapalooza music festival in August, the website TMZ reported Thursday.

Stephen Paddock didn't take no for an answer when he was told that a Chicago hotel couldn't guarantee him a room overlooking the Lollapalooza music festival, according to a new report.

Paddock booked a second room August 3 and both rooms had a checkout date of August 6, the last day of the festival.

Paddock allegedly booked two rooms at the Blackstone Hotel, the first on August 1 and the second on August 3, with both to check out on the final date of Lollapalooza on August 6.

No evidence has shown whether he showed up in the hotel at that time. An unnamed hotel source also confirmed the information to DNAinfo, the publication said.

Days before that, Lombardo said Paddock rented a room overlooking another Las Vegas music festival, Life is handsome.

The 64-year-old gambler and retired accountant also researched hotels around Boston's Fenway Park baseball stadium, but there was no indication he travelled to the city, NBC News reported, citing senior law enforcement officials. The reservation was made in late July, which suggests the killer was planning his attacks for months.

The lineup for the festival included artists Lorde, Chance the Rapper and Arcade Fire.

The revelations come as investigators are still trying to determine a motive for the Las Vegas shooting.

The distance from Stephen Paddock's window at the Mandalay Bay hotel was about 400 yards from the stage of the Route 91 Festival.

Separately, Las Vegas Sheriff Joseph Lombardo said on Wednesday that Paddock had rented several Airbnb rooms in Vegas' downtown district that corresponded with the "Life is lovely " music festival.

At a press conference, Federal Bureau of Investigation special agent Aaron Rouse said that they have yet to find a link to terrorism.

Monday: Investigators said that they are looking for the "roommate" of the shooter - Marilou Danley - and describe her as a person of interest.
