Liverpool's Mane out for up to six weeks

The dreaded global break has struck again, and Liverpool have been hit by a major injury blow.

Liverpool have suffered a big injury blow ahead of this weekend's meeting with Manchester United after Sadio Mane was ruled out for up to six weeks.

The injury is especially badly timed for Klopp with Liverpool's bitter rivals Manchester United visiting Anfield on Saturday.

Mané has scored three goals in four Premier League appearances.

Liverpool won just once in seven matches in all competitions during his time away with Senegal.

They coped better that time, with five wins, two draws and a defeat.

He will also be absent for the Reds' midweek Champions League clash at Maribor, along with a visit to Wembley to play Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on 22nd October.

Mane was included in the 30-man shortlist for the 2017 Ballon D'or which was released on Monday.

The Senegal global scored 13 goals and laid on a further right in just 29 appearances for the Reds in 2015/16, with his absence at the end of the season hampering his side's fluency.

Mane had already endured a turbulent start the season after serving a three-match domestic suspension having received a red card during his side's 5-0 trouncing at City in September.
