Padmavati Trailer: Classic on Cards

The trailer of the most anticipated films of the year, Padmavati, starring Deepika Padukone, Shahid Kapoor and Ranveer Singh has been unveiled today.

Besides Ranveer, Padmavati will feature actress Deepika Padukone in the title role and actor Shahid Kapoor as her husband - MahaRawal Ratan Singh.

For several months now, Padmavati has raised several eyebrows, to the extent of fringe groups attacking the film sets and sending out threats all over town. That might also be because Ranveer and Deepika and Sanjay Leela Bhansali are joining forces again.

Padmavati trailer is out and Bollywood celebrities can not stop raving about it. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh found their own spot on Twitter trends list while '#PadmavatiTrailer' has been trending for all of Monday.

The little over three-minutes trailer shows glimpses of the story of Rani Padmini aka Padmavati. Notably, Padmavati gonna be a Shahid Kapoor's first film with Bhansali.

Deepika Padukone looks elegant and suits the role of a princess in the trailer. Choosing honour over a life in Delhi, Padmini and the other women of Chittor killed themselves by leaping into a fire - a practice called Jauhar.

Ranveer is at his intense best as Alauddin Khilji as shots demonstrating his dark streak are peppered all over the trailer, out of which one in which he is seen hogging on meat stands out. Sanjay Leela Bhansali impresses with his direction once again and as expected he has marshalled his characters in an fantastic way without giving out much in the trailer.

The period drama movie is jointly produced by Bhansali Productions and Viacom 18 Motion Pictures.

Padmavati also stars Jim Sarbh and Aditi Rao Hydari. The film will hit the silver screen on December 1.
