Republicans to Trump and Corker: Please just stop

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon is ready to go to war for President Donald Trump, starting with a Republican Senate primaries in 2018.

The only fix for a commander in chief who is treating his immensely powerful office like "a reality show" is a new commander in chief.

"Senator Corker worked with Nancy Pelosi and the Obama administration to pave the way for that and rolled out the red carpet for the Iran deal", White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said at a briefing.

"I know they're recording it, and I hope you are, too", Corker said.

"I don't know why the president tweets out things that are not true", Corker told The New York Times.

"We're on the right path right now, believe me", Trump said during his meeting with prominent US Diplomat Henry Kissinger earlier this week.

Trump has responded, mocking Corker's height. "The people of this country want tax cuts, they want lower taxes".

Only eight percent think Trump is making the situation better, said the poll.

Corker is a member of Trump's party and as chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee, he's a leading voice on foreign policy issues.

The feud is odd because Corker was briefly considered as a vice president running mate during the 2016 campaign.

In his speech at the United Nations General Assembly last month, Trump threatened that the United States "will have no choice but to totally destroy" DPRK if forced to defend itself or its allies. When Corker later called Trump to tell him that he had chose to retire - a decision Corker made on his 65th birthday, August 24 - the president expressed disappointment, the congressional official said.

Both Trump and Corker entered politics after careers as business executives, both in real estate and construction, and their shared backgrounds gave them a level of mutual understanding at a time when few in Congress can claim to understand the president's motivations. "I don't think so at all", he said.
