Robbie Lawler vs. Rafael dos Anjos to headline UFC on FOX 26

The UFC announced today that a battle of former champions will headline the company's next FOX special as Robbie Lawler, the former welterweight champion, will face Rafael dos Anjos, the former lightweight champion. The event will take place on December 16 at Bell MTS Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Lawler was last seen in the cage at UFC 214, when he picked up a close decision win over fellow fan favorite Donald "Cowboy" Cerrone. Lawler fights out of Southern Florida, under striking coach Henri Hooft.

The 35-year-old defended his title twice before losing to Woodley in Fight of the Year candidates against Rory MacDonald and Carlos Condit.

Dos Anjos had a strong run at lightweight before losing the title to Eddie Alvarez. 3 and 9 welterweights in the world.

"While the current Champ needs months to recover from an injury", dos Anjos posted on his Instagram page.
