AJ Green Fined $42K for Fight with Jalen Ramsey, Won't Appeal

Green grabbed Ramsey around the neck from behind and took him to the turf while throwing punches at him late in the first half of the Jaguars' 23-7 victory. "I did something I wasn't supposed to do, so now I have to accept the consequences and that's fine". My family. That's not who I am, I can't go out there and black out like that.

"I put myself in a position where I hurt my team and I hurt myself", Green added. I apologized to the people I hurt. That was not professional. That's not who I am.

It looks like A.J. Green will not appeal the hefty fine given to him by the NFL.

That's a surprising decision, but it likely stems from the fact that Green was the one who was throwing the punches in their fight, while Ramsey did little more than give Green the kind of post-play shove that we see several times in every National Football League game. One thing that's still not clear is whether or not Ramsey will be fined.

Jalen Ramsey says he didn't get personal to send the normally stoic A.J.

According to ESPN.com, Ramsey went after Green in the Bengals' locker area but was restrained "by Jaguars personnel and EverBank Stadium security" before he could get anywhere near Bengals wide receiver. However, he did admit to calling Green soft and mentally weak, but he said that isn't anything different than what he's said to any other receiver he's covered.

"I lock receivers down physically and then mentally I get in their mind and get under their skin".

The Bengals play Sunday at Tennessee on FOX19 NOW.
