Andrews Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony

Veterans Day events also include a parade sponsored by the Veterans Council of St. Johns County and the Ancient City Chapter of the Military Officers Association of America, to honor the men and women of the Armed Forces. All veterans are welcome to join in and be a part of the local celebration.

Veterans Day was originally called Armistice Day because the "armistice" or agreement signed between the Allies and Germany ended World War I. It called for the cessation of all hostilities to take effect at 11 a.m. on the 11th day of the 11th month of the year in 1918.

The veteran of today is respected and revered by millions of Americans nationwide and in the continuing tradition to honor them and to maintain the legacy of their efforts for the "altar of freedom", we look forward to seeing each and every one of you at the ceremony.

For additional information and parade route, visit Kiwanis Marietta. Veterans Day is Saturday. Information about their military service will appear in the event program, and their photos will be featured in a commemorative slideshow.

This year, the City of Mansfield and Mansfield Churches FOR THE CITY are joining with the American Legion Post 624 and the Mansfield Independent School District to recognize and honor our local Veterans with the city's first ever Veterans Day Parade.

The City's Veterans Day events are free and open to the public.

We salute all - living and dead - who have served and still serve this nation, and we ask your reflection on Veterans Day and its meaning.
