The makers of Padmavati have submitted a fresh application for a 3D version of the controversial film, which has been awaiting clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), sources said. Among the questions, it is rumored that the panel will also be sharing opinions about movies based on historic figures and the extent to which a director or creator can be allowed to go to make his/her vision possible without hurting the sentiments of religious groups. The first was returned because there was no disclaimer. The makers have deferred the release till they receive a certificate from the CBFC. Their clock has been stopped now, and they are just waiting and waiting. This will be prejudice and moreover, he said that the bench has asked the CBFC to take the decision on the certification of the movie with the utmost objectivity. In view of this, our interference will tantamount to pre-judging the matter. "This film is not only an insult to her but also to Indian women and is an attempt to assassinate their character".

The ban by Bihar, ruled by a JD-U-BJP coalition, follows that by BJP ruled Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.

"Padmavati", which also stars Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor, is mired in controversy over conjectures that it "distorts facts" about Rajput queen Padmavati.
