'Games of Thrones' not returning until 2019, Sophie Turner says

As was expected, Game of Thrones wont return to the airwaves for its eighth and final season until 2019.

Although you probably didn't expect Santa to bring the eighth and final season of the Game of Thrones TV show on HBO, now it looks as though the Easter Bunny probably won't leave it your basket either - in 2018, at least.

Casey Bloys, president of the show's broadcaster HBO, told Entertainment Weekly the delay will try and help ensure the final season is the biggest yet.

The cast began production for Season 8 in October, but there's still "six or seven months left", Turner added. Apparently, Turner now has a better sense of when Game Of Thrones will return, even if HBO hasn't officially confirmed it yet. With Game of Thrones acting as 21-year-old Turner's breakout role, the actor says that starting her career on such a high note has made choosing future projects more hard. "Dark Phoenix [Turner's X-Men movie] is in November". I don't know about you but it the latter truly is the case then I will physically march to the wall myself (or to some Hollywood office and give David Benioff and D.B Weiss a piece of my mind).

Apart from Turner's accidental confirmation, our knowledge about Season 8 is pretty limited. I'm a producer on my next movie (Girl Who Fell From The Sky). "So I'm really excited about the future". It'll be 2018 or 2019, they say, as if a year means nothing to people counting every second until a new episode.

The last time we saw Sansa, she had just reunited with her long-lost siblings, Arya and Bran, in Winterfell.

So, if we're reading this right: the family will be split up again, they won't be in control of the North, white walkers EVERYWHERE, and everything is chaos.

HBO has not commented on the planned release date of season eight, and representatives didn't immediately return INSIDER's request for comment.
