Here's Our First Look At Batman Ninja

Batman is missing all of his high-tech weapons, but he trains his mind to take on a powerful Joker, who now claims he's the most powerful figure in Japan. Today at Tokyo Comic Con a trailer was released, and you can check it out above.

In Batman Ninja, the Caped Crusader and a selection of his enemies and allies are thrown back in time to medieval Japan. The centrepiece of the film comes as the two clash on a rooftop, each wielding a katana. Announced in October, this adaptation puts the DC characters into a mix of feudal Japan and Gotham where our hero can travel by both flying Batmobile and dramatic horse-drawn carriage. The movie is set in Japan, where Batman and others-like Robin, Harley Quinn, and Joker-are transported to the country mysteriously. Batman Ninja is directed by Jumpei Mizusaki of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fame with Afro Samurai creator Takashi Okazaki serving as character designer. The film is written by Kazuki Nakashima and English-language screenwriters, Leo Chu and Eric Garcia. The Joker immediately hatches a plan to alter events of the past and change history, and it's up to Batman to stop him - in a dramatic fashion filled with speed lines, elaborate outfits, and impossible feats of kung-fu. The best is probably Gotham By Gaslight, which imagines a Victorian Batman tangling with Jack the Ripper, but I also have a huge soft spot for Grant Morrison's time-hopping miniseries Batman: The Return of Bruce Wayne, in which we see Caveman Batman, Witchhunter Batman, Pirate Batman, Cowboy Batman and 30s Gumshoe Batman. Are you looking forward to Batman Ninja?
