Huskies will play Penn State in Fiesta Bowl

Just not in Arizona.

Washington (10-2), which concluded its season more than a week ago with a decisive victory over Washington State in the Apple Cup, rose to No. 12 in the Associated Press college football rankings released Sunday. This time it will be the Fiesta Bowl against Washington, with the game scheduled for 4 p.m. on December 30 at the Arizona Cardinals' University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, Ariz.

The No. 9 Nittany Lions and the No. 11 Huskies were selected today for their third all-time meeting and second in a bowl game.

Penn State has played in the Fiesta Bowl six times in history and won in all six appearances. Penn State lost by one point to Ohio State and 3 pts to Michigan State.

Penn State's 1982 national title was also preceded by a 26-10 win over USC in the Fiesta Bowl to close out the 1981 season.

The Nittany Lions are 2-0 all time against Washington, but haven't faced the Huskies since the 1983 Aloha Bowl.
