The superstar was fresh off her epic "Carpool Karaoke" segment with James Corden, and set to be honored with the Powerhouse Award at the 2017 Billboard Women in Music Awards.

Kelly Clarkson revealed in a new interview that the Los Angeles home she shares with her husband, Brandon Blackstock, and their children, River, 3, and Remington, 19 months, was recently burglarized. "Even in that scenario we weren't in the house, which is a blessing".

"Breaking rules, in a positive light, is so important to me", she said.

The 35-year-old was also asked what the term "powerhouse" meant to her, to which she replied with a laugh, "I guess it's someone who walks into a room and, like them or hate them, they're here!"

"I just want to talk about the women who really inspired me to be a singer and to be motivated", she said. 'Accept the fact that there is room for everyone'.

Now she and her family are putting the incident behind them and not allowing it to overshadow all of their good fortune.

She believes that together with this titles also comes a "huge responsibility, ' and she wants to encourage other people in a hard position in their lives that they can 'make it through".
