Melania Trump stopped at Whataburger while in Corpus Christi

First lady Melania Trump and Second Lady Karen Pence visited Whataburger on Wednesday.

The burger chain has a cult following in Texas. The American chain opened its 1st restaurant in Corpus Christi, TX in 1950!

The objective of the trip was to give the First and Second ladies time with aide workers and first responders who have been working nonstop to help those affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Trump and Pence also bought lunch for the press pool traveling with them.

'On our way out of town, @FLOTUS & @SecondLady made a decision to stop in to @Whataburger for some lunch!

They also visited the family's new Manufactured Housing Unit, provided by FEMA, which will serve as the family's temporary residence until they can move into a new, rebuilt home.

"As we approach Christmas this holiday season, your family is an example of what it means to have hope and recognize your blessings", Trump said during her visit.

THe pair were joined by Texas Gov. Greg Abbott's wife Cecilia and Texas Land Commissioner George P. Bush. They are here for ongoing help for #HurricaneHarvey. According to KHOU, the trip's agenda included hosting a meet-and-greet with first responders in the Coastal Bend who helped the community after the storm hit, meeting with a family that lost much of their home, meeting with elementary school students and volunteering at a food bank.
