Nebraska Preparing to Make Scott Frost Its Next Head Coach

Bleacher Report's Lars Anderson reported on Friday that he's already begun to put together his coaching staff and is looking at houses in Lincoln.

UCF: Two years after finishing 0-12, Scott Frost has accomplished the quickest turnaround in FBS history as the Knights are on track to get to their second New Year's Six bowl in five seasons.

It took a long, rumor-filled week before it finally became official, but in the end, Nebraska got the man they wanted by naming Frost as its 33rd head coach. He played for the Huskers from 1995 to 1997 before an National Football League career with the New york Jets, Cleveland Browns, Green Bay Packers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Knights had 603 total yards in their September win over the Tigers. Memphis matched UCF in offensive explosion and actually led 31-24 at halftime after intercepting Milton twice in the red zone in the second quarter.

Memphis scored the last 17 points of the first half to grab the lead, but opened the second half with a surprise on-side kick that was unsuccessful.

Memphis' possession came down to a 4th-and-7, the Tigers completed an out route to Anthony Miller for the huge first down. UCF turned the ball over four times, and Memphis gave it away just once. Miller had 14 receptions for 195 yards and three touchdowns. The Knights subsequently threw an interception, and the game went to overtime. Sources say Frost has agreed to a seven-year, $35 million contract. UCF answered on a 2-yard run by Adrian Killins. Still, news that this is an inevitability dropping as he's on the sidelines coaching UCF in the AAC championship game is less than ideal timing. With the kind of buzz surrounding Frost right now, that should not be much of a problem at Nebraska.
