John Mayer's been rushed to a New Orleans hospital for an emergency appendectomy.

John Mayer was hospitalized for an emergency appendectomy Tuesday morning. Mayer is now on tour with the Grateful Dead offshoot, Dead & Company.

Dead & Company has been around since 2015.

The band's official Twitter account broke the news of Mayer's health issue early Tuesday.

Dead & Company are due to perform at Amway Center in Orlando on Thursday (07.12.17), and again in Fort Lauderdale on Friday (08.12.17). "Should ticketholders choose to seek a refund, they will be available at point of purchase".

No word yet on whether Mayer's condition will have an impact on that show.

Fellow bandmates Oteil Burbridge tweeted his well wishes, "John, get well soon brother!" while Bill Kreutzmann added, "Wishing you well John!"
