Terry Crews Suing WME Agent He Claims Groped Him

Brooklyn Nine-Nine actor Terry Crews is taking legal action against WME and agent Adam Venit in the wake of his allegations that Venit sexually assaulted him back in 2016.

Crews has said Venit groped him in 2016.

Crews had previously filed a report with the Los Angeles Police Department in regards to the alleged assault.

On Nov. 30, Crews tweeted what he captioned as a text exchange between himself and his former agent at WME, Brad Slater. He claims the company culture encourages agents to act aggressively in furtherance of its reputation as an industry powerhouse and has an "unspoken policy of not punishing executives and agents for misconduct". A few hours later, Crews says Venit called him and apologized, claiming he was just not himself that night.

The alleged assault happened at a party Sandler was hosting at Hutchinson's Restaurant in West Hollwyood on February 4, 2016. He says he worries about Venit's power in the industry and hurting his career.

According to TMZ, Crews says in the lawsuit that Venit stared at him "like a rabid dog, sticking his tongue in and out of his mouth provocatively".

"Honored to stand among these strong, fearless individuals to fight for what's right. and take our lives back", Crews wrote on Twitter on Wednesday after Time Magazine published the details of his account.

His lawsuit states: "It is now time to hold Venit accountable for his sexual predatory behaviour and to hold WME accountable for its conduct in condoning, ratifying and encouraging Venit's sexual predatory behaviour".

Crews said he ultimately yelled out to Sandler, who was nearby, saying "Adam, come get your boy! He's grabbing my nuts".

Sandler shook his head in disbelief, Crews says, while Venit giggled and smirked. Venit reportedly called Crews the next day and apologised. The actor says he was assured by his agent that WME would address the issue, but never received word of any punishment.

The groping allegedly occurred at an industry event where Venit was representing WME.

But besides that apology, and despite the fact that Crews reported the incident to his own agent at WME, Crews said he did not see the agency take any action against Venit.
