It has been a month since Modi has been relentlessly campaigning in his hometown for the all-important elections in the state where he was the chief minister for nearly 13 years from 2001 to 2014 till he shifted to the national capital to become the country's PM after the BJP's massive win in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

In a press statement this evening, the Election Commission said Mr Gandhi, the Congress president-elect, talked about the Gujarat Assembly elections in which the polling for the second phase will be held tomorrow.

Making an emotional appeal, the Prime Minister said, "The lies that our worthy opponents have spread, about Gujarat, Gujarat's growth and about me personally is something I had never imagined".

"With the Government of India and Government of Gujarat working together, the strength rises manifold". No Gujarati will let go off a golden opportunity of development of our youth and coming generations.

PM Modi flew on Tuesday morning in a sea-plane from the Sabarmati river in Ahmedabad to Dharoi Dam in Mehsana district on the last day of campaigning for the Gujarat Assembly polls.

Modi also asserted that the victory of BJP is a guarantee for a bright future. Have been fortunate to always get your blessings. "I am sure you will continue to bless us in these elections too by voting for BJP", he added. The saffron party's star campaigner PM Modi started the last day of campaigning for Gujarat elections on Tuesday aboard a seaplane en route to Ambaji Temple. Be it Patidars, OBCs, Dalits, farmers.all are angry.

Confirming the elevation, Congress' Central Election Authority Chairman Mullapally Ramchandran said the committee had received 89 nomination papers, all proposing the name of Rahul for the coveted post.

Remaining parts of Gujarat, including Ahmedabad, are slated to go for polls on December 14.The first phase of polling took place on December 9 and recorded a voter turnout of 68 percent. The results for 182-member assembly will be declared on December 18.
