Acer Chromebook 11 adds USB-C, but doesn't fix the screen

Acer is doing a head start at the CES 2018 by announcing a new Chromebook.

As for the size, it is quite easy to carry around with the thickness of 0.71-inch and the laptop weighs only 2.43 pounds. The new Acer Chromebook 11 boasts of being fanless and yet offers a long-last battery life, an impressive 11.6-inch screen, and USB 3.1 Type-C ports. In terms of design, the Chromebook 11 G6 has witnessed a change in position of ports (USB Type-C and USB Type-A). To recall, the previously launched Chromebook 11 C771 was also shipped with the same resolution. To be precise, a touch supporting display bearing CB311-8HT model, and another non-touch version which carries the model number CB311-8. "Customers can play games, stay productive, enjoy content and do even more with the new Chromebook 11 thanks to its support of Google Play".

Like the C731 before it, the latest Acer Chromebook 11 comes with an optional touch display and 16GB or 32GB storage options.

There are two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, with either able to be used to charge the device. There is a microSD card reader to expand the onboard 16 GB or 32 GB storage. For connectivity, it includes the support for 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.2. Acer Chromebook will be available in retail stores in March 2018 at a starting price of $249 for the basic model.

The Chromebooks come with an HDR camera and there are dual-stereo speakers included as well with an integrated microphone. HP Chromebook 14 G5 will go on sale in February as well and the pricing remains a mystery.
