New Xbox features in the works; Next Achievements, Do Not Disturb, More

Now, those who test new features and games from Xbox One will be able sort a cross-games list of upcoming Achievements.

Apparently, Microsoft is looking to update Xbox Achievements with a new "Careers" system and other special Avatar bonuses. Xbox Insider Program members would have already received a console update as well which adds a next achievement features which tracks progress towards the next achievable achievement in a game. You can see which achievements you're closest to getting and quickly jump into a game to nab them. You can also sort your Achievements by how rare they are. With this feature, you'll be able to access content for the games you've played recently from a Game Hub without ever having to leave the current game you're playing.

The feature is essentially the same as the Xbox 360's Busy mode, which silences all incoming notifications and lets friends who view your profile know that you're unavailable for games, probably because you're binge watching something on Netflix. All together, you've got plenty of decent quality of life updates that should make using the Xbox One even better. Comments have been arranged to place more recent ones on top, while also showing who liked your comments. In addition to shutting down the console after one or six hours of inactivity, players will be able to select options for two, three, four, and five hours.

Xbox One update

Some users might find themselves testing additional experimental features. These features are only enabled for a portion of the Xbox Insider audience to gauge interest and collect feedback. The Narrator is also now able to read large amounts of text. A fix is being worked on.

For users encountering issues where some installed games are failing to launch: If the games are installed to an external drive, Insiders are being asked to copy the game to the internal drive or attempt to delete the title and re-download.
