The FBI search warrants shed new light on the degree to which the gunman, who killed 58 people and wounded more than 500 others when he opened fire on a crowd from a hotel room in October, planned the attack and prepared for the aftermath.

A USA judge in Nevada unsealed documents Friday showing some of what federal agents learned about Stephen Paddock in the week after the Las Vegas shooting.

People flee fropm the Las Vegas country music festival after lone gunman Stephen Paddock opened fire from a hotel window. Instead, they demonstrate how authorities continue to seek answers to many questions surrounding the actions and motive of gunman Stephen Paddock. According to reports, Paddock killed himself at the scene. The Las Vegas Review Journal and CNN were among the media outlets filing suit for the documents' unsealing.

Paddock used anonymous communications devices, including a prepaid cellphone.

Danely was cooperating with investigators and that the investigation "to date has not produced any conclusive evidence that Danely aided Paddock, had foreknowledge of his plans, or has been deceptive with law enforcement", according to the documents.

The documents show that Danley's Facebook account was set to private at 12:30 a.m. October 2 - about two-and-a-half hours after the rampage began - and was deleted at 2:46 a.m., less than an hour before authorities released Paddock's name to the public at 3:30 a.m., the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported. Investigators scoured her social media accounts and emails - one of which he, Stephen Paddock, had access to.

The FBI document, filed six days after the shooting, says authorities had no evidence suggesting Danley had any criminal involvement in the massacre. Authorities noted, however, that they did not rule out the possibility.

The search warrants detail how law enforcement focused on Marilou Danley, the girlfriend of Mr Paddock.

Authorities also said that investigators searching Paddock's hotel rooms at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, along with his vehicle and homes, found more than 20 guns, hundreds of rounds of unused ammunition, suitcases partially filled with "pre-loaded high capacity magazines", body armour, a homemade gas mask and explosive materials. The unsealed documents also detailed a string of emails Stephen Paddock sent to himself investigators said could be related to the attack.

The FBI returned to the house a week later for what officials called "redocumenting and rechecking".

Documents posted online by the Review-Journal showed Federal Bureau of Investigation agents sought information from Microsoft and Facebook regarding the accounts held by Paddock and Danley. She had set her Facebook account to private and later deleted the account.

Warrants also showed that investigators found an email address identified by investigators as Paddock's where he received a message from an account identified as CentralPark4804@gmail.com that read, "for a thrill try out bumpfire ar's with 100 round magazine".

That would mean "investigators need to determine who was communicating with him about weapons that were used in the attack", one of the warrants said.
