Bezos tops Forbes world's richest list

Forbes Billionaires' list 2018 is finally out with India adding 19 new billionaires in 2018, taking the tally to 121 among 2,208 billionaires worldwide.

Forbes" 2018 "billionaires list' features numerous same names as a year ago, as well as one newcomer, a new frontrunner and fatter wallets all round.

The elite group is worth over $11 trillion.

Jeff Bezos is the richest person in the world and is the first person in America to top $100 billion as number one on the Forbes list of the World's Billionaires. She is ranked 176th globally.

According to Forbes" 2018 "World's Billionaires' list, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani's wealth surged a whopping 72.84 per cent to Dollars 40.1 billion (Rs 2,60,622 crore) - highest among the 119 Indian Billionaires on the list.

Azim Premji is the second richest Indian and was ranked 58th on the overall list with a net worth of $18.8 billion, followed by Lakshmi Mittal (62nd position, net worth of $18.5 billion), Shiv Nadar (98th, $14.6 billion) and Dilip Shanghvi (115th, $12.8 billion).

Meanwhile, Anil Ambani, was ranked 887th on the list with a net worth of $2.7 billion. The Amazon founder is the first person to crack the $100bn mark.

In 2002, McMahon made the Forbes 400 which has been a running list of the 400 most wealthy people in the United States.

Sun Pharmaceuticals founder Dilip Shanghvi ranks next as the fifth riches Indian with $12.8 billion at the 115th global spot. Forbes said, "after a two-year hiatus, Anu Aga regained her billionaire status on a jump in shares of engineering firm Thermax, in which she owns 62 per cent".

Despite owning only 16 percent of "the everything store", which he built from scratch out of a garage in Seattle, Bezos can now call himself the richest person in the history of the planet.

Microsoft founder Bill Gates ranked second with $90 billion, followed by Warren Buffett with $84 billion, French businessman Bernard Arnault with $72 billion, and Facebook CEO Marc Zuckerberg with $71 billion.

He has been ranked #1374 on the list.

According to Forbes, Vince McMahon is among the richest in the world.
