Dolphins reportedly releasing Ndamukong Suh for locker room reasons

Rapoport said the move was about "regaining the locker room", and bringing in "the kind of players Dolphins coach Adam Gase wants".

The Dolphins rumors have swirled around if the Miami Dolphins will release DT Ndamukong Suh.

Suh fits the mold of the 4-3 defensive tackle Buffalo desperately needs with Marcell Dareus gone and Kyle Williams heading for free agency or retirement.

Suh's release also will take a large contract off Miami's books. Timmons, who will turn 32 in May, was due a base salary of $5.45 million in 2018 after signing a two year, $12 million contract, of which $11 million was reportedly fully guaranteed, with the Dolphins last year at this time.

Suh is only 31 years old, so there's no doubt that another team will be interested in his services. He has a reputation for needless penalties and dirty play, while his aloof personality raised questions about his leadership.

Suh's departure would be the latest in cost-cutting moves by the Dolphins, who missed the playoffs in 2017 after finishing 6-10.

The purge of big-time Dolphins talent continues as the news of Suh's impending departure comes just days after the team traded No. 1 receiver Jarvis Landry to the Cleveland Browns.

And then there's Timmons.

It was reported yesterday by the media that the Dolphins had talked to Suh or were going to talk to Suh about restructuring his contract. He went on to have a very impressive first season in Dallas, totaling 25 total tackles, six sacks, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery over the course of 13 regular-season games.

While Suh has been one of the better nose tackles in the NFL since being the Lions' No. 2 overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft, he hasn't been without headaches.
