Florida knocked out of SEC tournament by Arkansas

The Razorbacks face second-seeded Tennessee on Saturday.

This will be the second game of the season between these two teams. The game tips off at 1 p.m.

The No. 23 Florida Gators are riding in a three-game winning streak including an 80-67 win over Kentucky to close out the season. Arkansas beat Tennessee in Bud Walton Arena on December 30 in the first SEC game for both teams, 95-93 in overtime.

The offensive glass could be a major edge for Tennessee in this meeting.

White watched in agony as his team missed a handful of point-blank shots at the rim, missing six of 12 layups, including an uncontested miss in transition by Egor Koulechov.

Tennessee's Lamonte Turner (1) heads to the basket past Arkansas' C.J. Jones (23) during the second half of an NCAA college basketball game in the semifinals of the Southeastern Conference tournament Saturday, March 10, 2018, in St. Louis. "We made free throws", Arkansas coach Mike Anderson said. "I went ahead and windmilled it to put some flash on it". Arkansas led for 5 minutes and 9 seconds before Stone' 3-pointer but never relinquished the lead. Tennessee shot 76% in the first half and blew the game open in the final eight minutes before halftime with a 17-2 run. However, the Vols were able to keep the lead and avoid the Hogs' comeback by clutch performances from starters Admiral Schofield (16 points, seven rebounds), Grant Williams (12 points, five rebounds), and Kyle Alexander (12 points, seven boards). Florida held the ball for the final possession out of a timeout, but Chiozza's short jumper was off as the buzzer sounded. In the first, Barford had 28 points and five rebounds and the Razorbacks defeated the Volunteers 95-93. Like most teams in the SEC this season, the Gators didn't have much of an answer for Barford and his mix of drives and jumpers. Daniel Gafford is the third double-digit scorer and Anton Beard is dishing 3.1 assists. Gafford followed with a couple put-backs, almost yanking the rim off the backboard on the second to the delight of the pro-Arkansas crowd.

That started an 8-0 run which climaxed on a Stone layup with 12:49 left in the half, giving Florida an 18-10 lead.
